Sneha Seva Trust news - Inter high school competition.

On December 17, 2023, a program of "Shikshakara Sneha Milana" was organized. A meaningful program was conducted to promote the value of education and teachers, modern education and the importance of the role of teachers in the prosperity of today's students and to inspire renewed enthusiasm among teachers.About 100 teachers from 40 schools participated enthusiastically. Renowned speakers and education experts like Mrs. BV Aarti, Mr. YV Gundu Rao, Mrs. Amritavarshini and Mr. Rajesh K conducted a discussion on the role and behavior of teachers in modern education. We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Bharathish rao from R V D College and Mr. Satish from South Kitchens. We thank the participating teachers, dignitaries and volunteers.


Sneha Seva Trust news - Inter high school competition.

On 3rd Dec, 2023, inter high school competitions were held in 4 categories of group dance, drawing, quiz and individual singing. Around 300 students from 30 highschools participated enthusiastically. Winners took home cash prizes and certificates. It was a great platform for students to showcase their talents and students did a terrific job of it. We take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors, juries for the competition and volunteers.


On Nov 25th and 26th, 2023, Trust organised a Personality Development camp for the members of its Youth Wing (Yuva Vahini volunteers).

This 2days residential camp, organised at Bhagyalakshmi farms amid lush green environment, included several illuminating sessions on historical and cultural aspects of various places all around Bharath, patriotism inducing speech on Indian Army’s glorious history and traditions, Team building activities, hands on workshop on project planning, games and much more. 50 Students participated in this camp enthusiastically.Trust takes this opportunity to convey its heartfelt thanks to speakers Shri Rohith Chakrateertha, Major Bhargav (Retd), Shri Rajesh, Shri Pramod,Shri Raghavendra Hebbar, Dr. Padmakshi Lokesh and Shri Radhakrishna Holla, for their time and efforts to educate students on various subjects. Students returned home with inspiration to follow Dharmic way of life and participate in seva activities on a regular basis.

Today, Nov 5th 2023, an *interactive session with parents* of 9th students (who are recipients of Jnana Siri scholarship) was held at Vasavi Mahal, Basavanagudi.Various topics such as Effect of mobile usage by students on their studies, special measures to be taken during the exam time, implementing samskaras to improve student behaviour were discussed. About 115 parents attended the meeting.At the same time, weekly Samskaara Kendra session was held for students.

Inauguration function of jnanasiri yojane and school kit distribution for the year 23-24 was held yesterday with cultural programs by students, symbolic handing over of school kits and scholarship cheques to students and falicitating students who performed exceptionally well in the recent 10th and 2nd PUC exams. We are extremely happy to announce that the Kishori Jagruthi was conducted by Dr. Latha, Lalitha and Chaitra at Pragna School Byatarayanapura, which has 72 students. We have a plan to cover a total of 50 schools in this academic year.

Sneha Seva Trust in collaboration with Zeiss conducted the Aloka vision program. During the vision screening we identified people who are in need of specs. On 13-09-2023 Wednesday specs are distributed for 160 people. Sri Hariprasad, Sri Mohan Kumar, Srimati Dr.Latha,Srimati Lalitha were present during distribution.

INAUGURATION FUNCTION 2023

AZADI KI AMRITH MOHAOTSAV COMPETITIONS - CONCULDING FUNCTION

3 months from planning to execution, enthusiastic participation by 3,500 students from 90 schools/colleges in 5 categories of competitions and awarding 120 cash prizes and several trophies!!! This huge exercise was concluded with a grand function on 28th Aug 2022, Sunday, presided by former chief minister of Karnataka Shri B.S. Yediyurappa. Function ended after audience were treated to an amazing speech about Patriotism and Seva by Shri Su. Ramanna, Senior Pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
A new scholarship program ‘Jnana Siri’ was also launched to provide scholarships to 750 needy students from Bangalore South schools/colleges.

Thanks to all donors for helping families (affected by pandemic) celebrate Yugaadi.

They were affected by Covid pandemic directly or indirectly, with loss of earning member of the family or loss of job or drastic reduction in earning opportunities.
On 31st March 2022, such families were given food kits containing food items which are not in the list of items given by govt.
They just took their items from the lot with no handing over ceremony respecting their identity, who have fallen into bad times due to pandemic. We thank Chiguru Educational and Social Trust for sponsoring these food kits.

Our Culture - Our Pride - Talk of Coordinator and feedback of students.

Our Culture - Our Pride is a new program being held weekly at Trust premises every Sunday. This weekly program is based on lectures of Shri Gururaj Karajagi called ''Belakina DeepagaLu" in which he talks about different aspects of Ramayana and Mahabharatha Every week, a couple of episodes of this talk series is sent to students. They listen to the same and at the weekly meet, students discusses values propagated by the such epics, what can be adapted in our lives, etc. Coordinators Smt Vasanthalakshmi Jayaram and Dr Latha moderate the discussion. Every week students are also given a Test and winners get attractive cash prizes. Students are also provided lunch after the classes. About 75 students are participating in this program enthusiastically and is a huge success beyond our expectation.

Highlights of the event:
Ayudha Pooja was performed on 14th October 2021. Mr. R Chandrashekar was the chief guest and Mr. Satyesh Bellur was the keynote speaker who enlightening the students about Dussera. Prize money was distributed to winners of our program ‘Belakina Deepagalu’.

Television installation at the trust

A smart television was denoted as part of Rotary Bangalore Central Project initiative.
This will be utilized for smart classes for our students.

Exams Conducted for our program ‘Our Culture-Our Pride’

Exams were conducted in 4 phases (Weekly) to conclude our interactive session on Dr. Gururaj Karjegi’s lecture series “Belakina Deepagalu”: Our Culture-Our Pride which was inaugurated on 28th August 2021.
Students will be facilitated for the successful completion of the program.

Distribution of school kits to high school students

On Saturday, 2nd October 2021 school kits were distributed to high school students. Kit contained long note book, bag, king size note book, dictionary, geometry material, basic stationery like pencils, erasers, pens etc.

Distribution of Food Kits

Due to second wave of Corona, government has imposed lockdown to control the pandemic. Unfortunately, such measures affect the people depending on daily wages from their employment or daily earnings from their petty businesses.   There are many families of students who come to tuitions held by the Trust are in distress due to loss of earnings affecting their normal lives and, in some cases, affecting education of students also. Hence, Sneha Seva Trust has decided to distribute food kits to these families. Currently, we have already distributed 100 food kits and depending on the resources is planning to distribute another 400 food kits. A food kit contains 10 kg of rice and other items like Dal, oil, Sugar, Avalakki, etc.

Inauguration of Vidya Vahini Project and Felicitation to high scoring students

On Sunday 25th Oct 2020, a function was held at the trust premises, to felicitate high scoring students of SSLC exams for the year 2019-20. All these 5 students who got more than 90% have been placed at good colleges for further studies. Also, Vidya Vahini Project for the year 2020-21 was symbolically inaugurated with distribution of school kit to few students. In a normal year, this used to be a BIG function to welcome 300 to 400 students back to tuition classes. Courtesy Covid19, this function was very low key, with no clarity on when will tuition classes resume.

Waterbreak initiative at Government schools

Waterbreak ensures that kids drink atleast some quantity of water while they are at school.
Our Trust distributed high quality reusable water bottles to students of govt school at Byatarayanapura and now water break has been introduced from today. Water bell will ring 3 times in a day and all students will drink atleast some quantity of water. Same concept will be introduced at 3 other govt schools adopted by the Trust, in due course.

Facilities provided to Government schools

On Dec 21st 2019, in a programme presided by Hon Minister of Karnataka for primary and higher education Shri Suresh Kumar, Sneha Seva Trust and Chiguru Educational and Social Trust, unveiled various benefits for government schools adopted by them.
Minister inaugurated classrooms with 60 new benches (with built in desks) and witnessed handing over smart school equipment which enhances student's capacity to understand different subjects. High quality water bottles were also distributed to students to carry water to schools, etc.
Attractive prizes were distributed to winners of the inter-govt school competitions.


Workshop for 10 th standard students and their parents

Renowned educationist Shri Jayasimha H.A. conducted a workshop (on Sept 15 th , 2019) for students who are studying in 10th standard. He covered subjects such as mental preparedness of students, special care they should take in this critical year, etc. Parents also attended the workshop to understand their responsibilities and how they can support their children in this crucial year. At the end, workshop ended by parents and students having dinner together. In the next workshop Shri Jayasimha will provide training on issues like how to prepare a time table, time management etc.

On 24th Aug 2019, Krishnashtami was celebrated at Trust premises. Students and their family members attended the event which included Shobha yatre, dance, fancy dress and stage plays.


Meeting with parents

A meeting with 10th standard students who attend tuition classes at our centre and their parents was held on 13th July 2020.
Many challenges which students face in this critical year were discussed with students and their parents. Also, the steps which parents and students should take to face the these challenges were discussed.

Kishori – Awareness program for adolescent girls

An awareness session about menstrual hygiene and other common health issues was organised on 11th July 2019 at Byatarayana Pura govt high school, Bangalore. In 2 sessions, about 250 girls attended the program in which they watched an informative video, asked questions to Doctor and Counsellor and got tips about healthy hygiene routines and healthy eating habits.

Vidya Vahini project launched

Report on Vidya Vahini Inauguration Function held on 23rd June 2019 Inauguration function of Vidya Vahini project for the academic year 2019-20, was held on 23rd June 2019, Sunday.
On this occasion, free school kits and scholarships were distributed to students from economically backward section. Also, students who performed well in the SSLC and PUC exams were felicitated.
Key note speaker Shri Chakravarthy Sulibele appreciated the efforts of Sneha Seva Trust and Chiguru Educational & Social Trust in empowering students by providing them financial and moral support and thus changing the lives of these students positively.
Presiding over the function Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University Shri Venugopal gave tips to students on how to focus to attain the goals set and how to achieve development in all aspects of life. He appreciated the efforts of the Trust in inculcating a sense of social service in the minds of the students.

Vidya Vahini Project Inauguration

In the function, school kit and scholarship will be distributed to students and it will be followed by key note speech by Sri Chakravarty Sulibele, Founder of Yuva Brigade. Personality Development Camp

20th and 21st April,for about 50 high school and college students, *Personality Development Camp* was organised. Many experts gave training on various subjects like time management, social responsibility of students, target setting and ways to achieve the same, and inculcating Indian culture.

Scholarship

March 24, 2019
From 200 students who took the entrance test on 23rd Feb, 45 students were shortlisted and today each of those students along with patents were interviewed to understand the economic status and family background. This will be followed by visits by our volunteers to their homes. Selected students will be awarded scholarship from 8th standard to 12th standard.

Kala Namana

Kalaa Namana Association arranged a felicitation for South India super star Ramesh Aravind and some of his best songs were renditioned by budding artists. Organisers introduced activities of the Trust to audience and donated their contribution to Trust's activities.

Saraswati Pooja

Today, with Saraswati pooje function, tuition classes for this academic year were concluded. On this occasion, teachers were felicitated for their contribution towards success of students.

Annual Day

Annual day of 12 self help groups was celebrated. Dr. Geetha Manunath a pioneer in the field of technology usage in early detection of cancer, inaugurated the program. She very effectively communicated the need for ladies to take of their health, monitor family's financial needs, cleanliness at home and the education of kids. She said that she is wiling to organise a medical camp for ladies of this group with special focus on risk of cancer. After inauguration, ladies participated in various cultural activities. Program ended by 5pm.

Vidya Vahini Project

To qualify for scholarship under Vidya Vahini Project, about 200 students (currently studying in 7th std) from government and aided schools appeared today for the entrance exam conducted by the Trust. . Subject to economic condition of the family and other parameters, students who performed well in this test will be awarded scholarship until they finish 2nd PUC.

Mane Maddu

'mane maddu' program was organised at the trust. In this, Dr. Veena demonstrated how to prepare basic medicine for normal sickness, by using easily available vegetables, plants and flowers, which have medicinal values.

Chiguru Cultural Function

Youth for seva organised "chiguru" a cultural event for primary and higher primary children around Bengaluru. Around 2000 children from around 150 schools participated in this program. Students from Sneha seva trust participated in this event and won many prizes.

Inter HighSchool Competition

Inter high-school competitions were held at Trust’s premises. 186 students from 15 aided and government schools participated with great enthusiasm in 5 categories of competitions (Skit, drawing, Speech, Kannada writing, Kagga/Vachana recitation). Winning students were given very attractive prizes. We are thankful to students, school management, volunteers and those well-wishers who came as judges for competitions, for making this event a grand success.

Vidya Vahini Project

During the usual Trust meeting today (17th June 2018), there was a surprise visitor. Mallikarjuna, who was part of 1st batch of Vidya vahini Project in 2009,visited the office to inform that he has completed Engineering and he has got a job through campus placement!!!(In Cyient Engineering as Design Engineer). When we hear things like this,can’t thank enough each one of you for the support extended to Trust.

Vidya Vahini Project

Shilpa R a student supported by Sneha Seva Trust / Chiguru, has secured 22,317th Rank in all india NEET examination. In her category she has secured an all india rank of 73. In all probability state rank in her category will be around 15. With this performance, she is hoping for a (most likely to get) seat in Bangalore Medical College. This is a tremendous achievement by Shilpa and shows her determination to fight against the obstacles created by the social and economics factors. Shilpa wiil be the first student supported by the Trust who will be joining MBBS. Please join us in congratulating her. Thanks for your continued support.
